The Hellenic American Union

The Hellenic American Union is, in essence, similar to the British Council in what they do and why they do it.

It was formed in 1957 and has, as the name implies, strong ties with the United States of America.

They oversee and administer the testing for the University of Michigan’s language certificates (ECCE and ECPE) in Greece.

According to their site, they operate as a non-profit organization.

Reportedly, they receive no grants or funding from either the Greek or the US government.

They are involved in providing a number of cultural activities including, but not limited to, education and related activities such as the arts. They also prepare and publish material for classroom use for a variety of subjects including exam material.
